Saint Peter's Church is a blessed community of Faith grounded in the power of God's transforming love, where Jesus Christ welcomes all to abundant life. Empowered by the Holy Spirit, we follow Him in prayer and praise, study and service.
Week of May 26, 2019

In your daily devotions this week pray for all members of the Anglican Community; Ascension Church in Gloucester; the members and ministry of the Trustees of Diocesan Trust Funds; the ministry of Parish Administrators; and Frank Goss, Francis Hubbard, Deborah Piggins; Peter Manzo, Timothy Cogan, Joseluis Memba, Bruce Montgomery, John Powell, Jean Smith, Elly Brown, Patrick Hunt, Bernard Maguire, Peter Nelson, Agostino Rivolta and John Stone, priests of our diocese.

The Flowers on the Altar are given to the greater glory of God and in honor of those who have served our country and in loving memory of Fred Meyer.

Join us for an Ice Cream Social on June 2 from 6:00 to 7:30 pm outside in the back by the gazebo.

As announced through email on May 13, the Rev. Canon Valerie Balling has accepted the call to be the priest-in-charge at St. Peter's starting on August 1, 2019.  If you missed the email, please see the full announcement on the table in the narthex.

Help us welcome our new priest.  We invite you to write a few words of welcome for Reverend Valerie. There are supplies in the narthex; just write your welcome, sign your name, and leave it in the basket. We will put the welcome notes on the vestry bulletin board in Williams Hall for Reverend Valerie to see when she arrives.  Thank you.

SPRING HAS SPRUNG, AND OUR KITCHEN IS IN NEED OF LOTS OF LOVE:  Since our kitchen is in need but is too small to accommodate a cleaning crew at one time, I have decided to number the cabinets so that a person could schedule a time, pick a cabinet, clean it, do an inventory of contents and leave it in my mailbox.  This way no one would have an enormous task, and our kitchen would be clean and very presentable. Pick a date, sign the sheet, you pick most convenient time for your service, no need to call anyone, or if a couple want to do it together that is your decision.  Signup sheet is on the table in the narthex. Any questions, contact Beverly Scollay.

Calling all foreign language readers - We invite you to be a part of St. Peter's celebration of the Day of Pentecost (Saturday and Sunday, June 8 & 9) by participating in the traditional reading of Luke's description of the first Christian Pentecost (Acts 2:1-21) in as many foreign languages as possible. Readings are normally quite short, and your script will be provided to you in advance. We are looking for participants at all services. To volunteer, please use the sign-up sheet on the narthex table, speak to Deacon Helen, or email her at Thank you.

Grocery shopping with a cash card? Try it, you’ll like it!  The International Outreach Team thanks those who faithfully support St. Peter’s companionship with Redemption School, Haiti, by purchasing and using Acme or ShopRite cards. Both cards are available for sale after all services in denominations of $20.00, $50.00, and $100.00.

Baccalaureate Sunday will be observed at the 10:15 a.m. service on Sunday, June 16.  Please contact the office as soon as possible with the names of any graduates, 8th grade and up including graduate school.  All names received will be listed in the bulletin.  Thank you.
