The Flowers on the Altar are given to the greater glory of God and in loving memory of James Johnston, father of Bob Johnston; Frank Barnaby, husband of Adele Barnaby; and Ruth Scarpulla, mother of Stephen Scarpulla.

September food drive - Suggested donations for September include pasta, pasta sauce and canned pasta (spaghetti, spaghetti-o's, ravioli, lasagna). As always, other items are also welcome. Thank you very much for your continued support of our food drive for the people served by the Christian Caring Center.

It's Back-to-School time in Haiti, too! Help the students of Redemption School Haiti by purchasing and using our ShopRite & Acme cards. Both are available for sale in the narthex following all services and are redeemable for full face value. St. Peter's receives 5% of each purchase to help fund faculty salaries and other needs at Redemption School, Gonaives, Haiti. Thank you.

Deacon's Office Hours: Beginning this week, Deacon Helen will be in the office on Wednesday and Friday mornings from 9am-12 noon. Please feel free to stop in for any need or just to say hello.

Wednesday Bible Study - The Wednesday Bible Study that meets at 11 am in the library will start up again on September 19th. This year we will be reading through the book Bible Women: All Their Words and Why They Matter by Lindsay Hardin Freeman. This book walks us through the books of the Bible to find all of the women who speaks in the Bible, providing their words, context, and historical background. We will find out who speaks the most and also the least. In the end we will join with the mothers, grandmothers, warriors, prophets, prostitutes, and murderers. We are promised that we won't come out the same! This book is available in the parish office for the cost of $20.00.

Want to S.O.A.R. again? Our fledging group, S.O.A.R. (seniors on a roll) begins this week. We will be meeting the second Tuesday of each month September through May. Most months we will meet for food and fellowship at different restaurants nearby. On a few months, we will meet at the church to listen to a speaker and the last month, I'm hoping for a day trip to somewhere we all would like to go. All meetings will begin at 12:30PM.  Our first meeting will be September 11th 12:30 at the Medport Diner. I hope to see you there with your ideas of restaurants, speakers and a trip.
